“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven”
Ecclesiastes 3:1
I would like to share a story with you, a true story, about a young woman and a need.
In January of 2019, Moriah saw a need, a need to encourage the body of Christ, especially those who appeared unreached: single young adults in their 20s and 30s. This age group seemed to be slipping through the cracks of the Church at large. It was not that the Church did not love them or try to build them up, but so many seemed to be untouched or felt left out simply because they did not fit in a set group anymore. Not many knew what to do with them or how to help. So too often they faded into the background or left the Church altogether. After much prayer and discussion, Moriah began the process of creating the Seasons Young Adult Conference. When it was first made, it was for single men and women to remind them that God has a purpose for them in their season of singleness, and to encourage them not to waste the season. As Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, there is a season to everything, and that is not just in regard to nature.
As they years progressed, God took Seasons from just ministering to singles and grew it to encompass young married couples as well. The encouragement remains the same: Serve God in the season you are in. This two day conference is a time of encouragement, building each other up in the Lord, Christian fellowship, food, friendships, worship, and lessons to draw people closer to Christ. Every conference has a theme, and the theme for 2026 is Rest. It is our hope and prayer that those who come will experience God’s love and presence and learn what it means to rest in Christ Jesus.
Every year, we pray and seek God for His will concerning the Seasons Conference. (Yes, I get the privilege to serve alongside Moriah and others of our family. When one of us starts something it often becomes a family affair.) We have been blessed to serve those the Lord brings to each conference. Every year Moriah pours her heart into this conference, prays for those who come, and encourages the volunteers to the best of her best ability. “This is God’s conference,” Moriah will say. We want God to get the glory. We want to fill others up and encourage them to serve the Lord in the season they are in. She saw a need, took it to God, and followed His direction. When God shows us a need it is for a reason. And He often has something for us to do.
I ask that you please pray for us as this year’s conference draws near (September 25th and 26th). Pray for the team behind the Seasons Conference, and pray that God is glorified through it all.
