The author shares her touching journey through the book of James and the lessons found there. In addition to scripture, she offers realistic analogies that serve to inspire. For example, the young boy going to camp but not obeying the camp staff as an analogy of those coming to Christ but not being obedient to his word (James 1:1). Likewise, how the betrayal of friends reminded her to ask God to show her how He sees people (James 2:8). One of the more humorous analogies, about Bordeaux the goat, emphasized our need to follow God’s will (James 4:15).

She also offers practical tips that serve to edify. Consider her suggestion to identify three spiritual accountability partners (James 1:12), or the joy that comes from giving secret gifts (James 3:13), or even writing a list of 1000 things for which to be grateful (James 5:9).
