“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey; a colt, the foal of a donkey” (Zechariah 9:9).
I learned something new a few months ago about God. Growing up I thought that we had to go to God if we wanted to be in His presence. He is the King, and we should be the ones that come humbly before Him. Here is what happened…
Standing in a church service, I watched others worshiping God; the songs were what I grew up with as “outer court” songs, meaning they were all about let’s go worship. While these songs are great, my soul was searching for more. I longed to move beyond the singing about God to the standing in His presence. I was really wanting to hear from God that day, and I was praying, asking Him to take us into the Holy of Holies, the place where His Spirit dwells. He told me, “Moriah, the King can come to the outer courts.” I was dumbfounded. The worshipers around me were so excited and hungry for God that He was willing to come meet them in the outer courts because they did not know how to get to the Holy of Holies.
Isn’t God so amazing! He is willing to come to whomever wants Him, wherever they are. We should strive to grow closer and enter the Holy of Holies, but do not despise meager beginnings, for the King can come to the outer courts!
As we approach Resurrection Sunday (Easter), remember to celebrate the King who came to meet us where we are and make a way for us to come into the Holy of Holies. Rejoice for your King comes to you! Bless God!

I love that realization you had Hagel books that is truly such an inspiring experience
God ALWAYS meets us exactly where we are.
