Tick Tock, Tick Tock, The Clock that Would Not Stop

Tick, tock, tick tock, the clock would not stop.  It was turned on its side and then again on the other side, but tick tock, tick tock it would not stop.  She was swung round and round, put on a high shelf, but the sound did not waiver nor did she stop tick tock, tick tock.  The watch was smothered in a pillow and even sat upon it, but still, she did not stop with the tick and the tock.  In agitation the assailant put the watch on its face, but you could still hear the gentle tick tock, tick tock.  Finally, he put her in the ground and buried her.  Time went by and then her Maker came. When He dug up the ground around her, He lifted her from the miry clay, you could hear tick tock, tick tock.  No direction and no amount of turmoil knocked her off her course of ticking and tocking.

In life we have an assailant (the devil) who will try and turn our world upside down and even bury us.  Our job is to keep on ticking and tocking as our Maker created us to do. Christ will be faithful and come get us out from the hole the enemy may put us in, but until He does, we tick and we tock along. Sometimes it is painful to keep ticking, and we feel like stopping. Our batter dies, and then is our choice. Do we get the energy to tick and to tock from a battery, or from Christ. If it is form a battery, we will stop ticking. Christ’s power in us will give us the energy and strength to continue to tick and tock no matter what.

The question is what is our source of energy? A battery or Christ? Will we allow trials and waiting to stop our course with God or will we continue to tick and tock right along, so when He comes to get us, we will still be ticking and tocking?
