Peep, Peep, Peep!

Peep, Peep, Peep, the little chicks are hatching! The house always gets excited when the first peep sounds from the incubator. Children run to catch a glimpse of the new life that is cracking away at the eggshell. “It’s happening! Baby Chicks are hatching!” sounds throughout the house. No matter how many times I have seen it or heard it, I always smile when I hear the soft cheep of a new chick announcing its arrival.

New life brings a smile to all faces no matter if it is little chicks, puppies, kittens, or babies, and Spring is the season for new life and new growth. God also loves to see new life in His children. His heart rejoices and smiles when we are learning what we are supposed to and growing in the way He has planned for us.

This Spring spend some time analyzing your own spiritual growth and relationship with Christ. Is there new life in your walk with God? Are you perhaps cracking away at some old shells like the little chicks and coming alive in a new area? If you are I rejoice with you. If you are not, I would be happy to pray with you for God to show you the eggshells in your life He desires to be chipped at and broken. The struggle that the little chicks go through only makes their entrance into the world a greater triumph! It all begins with that first crack!

May the Lord give you strength to break away at the old eggshells and the mercy to see new life in your own journey with Him.

P.S. Thank you all for praying as we (the hagelbook authors) went to the Blue Lake Christian Writer’s Conference last week. It was great to reconnect with those we met last year and meet new friends. God taught us a LOT and we look forward to watching how we too can grow this Spring in Him and in our writing.

  1. Great writing! Spring is my favorite season of the year, and it officially begins today! I love newborn creatures, too, whether little chicks or puppies or kittens or whatever. I hope to get some little chicks of my own this Spring and start my own backyard chicken farm for both eggs and meat. It was wonderful meeting all of your Hagel ladies at the Blue Lake Christian Writers Conference last week as well. I hope we can maintain contact going forward.
