When Jesus had spoken these words, He lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son that the Son my glorify You”
John 17:1 (ESV)
How often in our hardships, trials, or testing do we look down and forget to look up? When our focus is down on the problem we are either anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or angry. But if we look up we gain perspective: God is so much bigger than what is before us. The Creator of heaven and earth is still in control.
Psalm 123:1 tells us, “Unto You [Lord] I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens.” Our eyes are to look to the Lord and not be consumed with our problems.
Today, lift your eyes to heaven. Focus not on your anxiousness but on Christ. Focus on God, and let His peace surround you.
Your sister in Christ,
Charisa
